Recently, SportsGraphics had the opportunity to partner with ESPN’s new series, Rise Up. This past fall, we designed, created, and donated new safety wall pads to both Ingraham High School in Washington and Dyett High School in Illinois. It is great to be able to give back to the communities that need it the most. The SportsGraphics team felt such pride when seeing the kids’ faces during the reveal. ESPN'S Rise Up is an evocative, inspirational one-hour series that takes on the challenge of completely rebuilding one under-privileged high school's athletic facility from the ground up. Each of the four episodes will follow a different school as community members come together to refurbish the one thing that ties an entire town together – the local high school athletic program. RISE UP will spend time with the students and coaches in each community, uncovering the challenges facing high school athletes today, and working with professional athletes, coaches, and trainers to help motivate and inspire them to reach even greater goals. Dyett High School (Chicago, IL) Ingraham High School (Seattle, WA) See more at: www.espnrise.com/riseup and http://www.prleap.com/pr/182743/ FF Athletic Boosters Installs New Wall Mats in Gymnasium The Fort Fairfield Athletic Boosters Club (FFABC) recently purchased and installed new mats at each end of the Fort Fairfield High School gymnasium to replace the older mats that were there. “Part of the reason we purchased the mats was for safety,” said Larry Gardner, president of FFABC, “We only had 16 feet of mat on each endline before, and now we have 32 feet on each so there’s a lot more protection for the players. “The other part obviously was for school spirit and motivation.” The mats were unveiled during a highly motivational and energetic pep rally in front of the entire K-12 student population. While Presque Isle High School has a painted version of their mascot on their court's wall mats, the mats at FFHS were professionally printed via an offset press designed to print to vinyl from any supplied photographic image. “I don't know of any other gym in the County, or even Maine for that matter, that would have something in full color like this,” said Gardner. “As far as I'm concerned, we have a pretty special school that cares about its students and student athletes and does special things for them. “
The mats were purchased from Iowa-based, SportsGraphics. The FFABC also ordered protective covers to be placed over the mats during baseball season or other times when they might get damaged. “I want to thanks those who helped me with the installation as well; Mark Jenkins, Tim Watt, John McCrea, Kirby Doughty, Todd Alley, Cody Closson and Camille St.Pierre. They came in on a Sunday night before the pep rally to install them so no one would see them until the next morning at the rally.” TD AMERITRADE Park Omaha New home to the NCAA Men’s College World Series TD AMERITRADE Park Omaha will be the supreme objective for college baseball players who long for a chance to compete for college baseball’s national championship. A $128 million stadium will be completed in spring 2011 and will be the new home to the NCAA Men’s College World Series. Patrick Conlon, President of Field Wall Padding.com also had his dreams of outfitting the new College World Series. Field Wall Padding .com specializes in safety and image products for stadiums and fields, and arenas. TD Ameritrade Park has relied on Field Wall Padding.com to create a safe stadium for the 24,000 fans and athletes that will be enjoying this new stadium. “We were thrilled for the opportunity to serve and be a part of this new stadium; the vision of this stadium alone has been so inspiring to our entire team. We are excited to be creating and designing custom wall padding and rail padding that will be used for the next 25 years in the Men’s College World Series. This place will no doubt be an architectural icon.” University of Cincinnati has contracted Field Wall Padding University of Cincinnati has contracted Field Wall Padding.com for their football practice facility. Field Wall Padding by SportsGraphics is in the process of designing graphics on their custom field wall padding. “We love to solve safety concerns for stadiums with our custom padding but we get excited to design graphics on our pads. We have been designing graphics and doing print on padding and other safety products for over 20 years.” Patrick Conlon sees this facility as having an impact on the entire community and not just the University as the stadium will be opened up for use for everyone that doesn’t have a home field to play on. The 50- and 100-yard practice fields will be fully lit, and the larger field will be covered by an air-supported bubble during winter months. This will allow year-round practice space. As part of the project, a chilled water thermal storage tank will be under the 50-yard field to help with the university’s air conditioning which could save million dollars a year. “It's inspiring to see everyone do what they can creatively to be smarter for the environment while saving money. These are the kind of projects I’m proud to be a part of.” Pat says. |

project since October. “Nobody else knew about this except for a couple of
people who I ran the design by to get their input.”
